I go back to Free People as a brand time and time again. It has a free-spirited, breezy bohemian vibe that I adore in the summer when my typical Dark Academia looks don’t quite cut it.

I’m seen here in the Free People Sea Ya There Mini Dress. Like many Free People dresses, I find that they usually run large so I typically but an XS. It’s a flowy pleated mini dress featuring frayed details and an oversized silhouette. It has long sleeves with elastic at the wrists, a boatneck, and smocked accents throughout. Mine is the cream colour, which is the colour “tea” on the website. I found that the light colour was not see-through on me, but other reviews online had that complaint.

My biggest critique is that it is very short. I think that many people would wear this as a tunic and not a dress. You have to be very, very careful when you bend over in this dress. However, the things that I like about it are that it’s soft, flowy, and has pockets. It can be dressed up or down. I sometimes even use it as a swimsuit coverup.
